1. I grew up in central Virginia in a small town called Altavista which is located south of Lynchburg.2. I went to a small college in South Carolina, Southern Wesleyan University and majored in Accounting & Business.
3. I had really big hair in college and a dark tan...my nickname was "Dark Dina". I was young & dumb about tanning!
4. I cheered from middle school through college and was a band geek also. I played the saxophone.
5. I realized after graduation the small town life was not for me and moved to Raleigh, NC which was my home for 14 years. I loved living in "ACC country" or "Tobacco Road"...as they call it. I still consider Raleigh home and keep in touch with old friends..thanks to Facebook!
6. I am a big football fan and met my husband, Eric, while tailgating for an NC State football game. When I first saw him, I thought, who is that redneck drinking Budweiser? He has now switched to BudLight. We are still Wolfpack fans and have had season tickets with 10 other old friends for over 10 years now.
7. While in Raleigh, I worked for the rival..UNC, as an Analyst for the UNC Healthcare System. I worked for the physician side of UNC Hospital in Radiology, Pediatrics and Managed Care. Our team of analysts helped reimburse money to the hospital from insurance companies. We also set those extremely high Physician fees everyone complains about!
8. Eric and I eloped in Maui and surprised most family and friends with a picture postcard of our wedding on the beach. I have never regretted not having the expensive stressful wedding...especially after hearing my friends say, " I can't wait until it's over". We sent the postcard snail mail...just wish Facebook was around then!!
9. Eric and I moved to Richmond in 2006 and had planned to only be here about 3 years...but the economy has kept us here and lucky to have a job!
10. Cooper is 18 months old and love him more every day! Eric's grandfather owned a tire store in SW Virginia and always talked about "Cooper Tires"...so, that is where the name came from.
11. I am a Cowboys fan and Eric is a Redskin fan. Enough said.
12. I am a huge Dave Matthews fan and have been in the "Warehouse" fan club since '99. I try to make at least one concert a year.
13. My mother taught piano and I played for about 7 years. I got a keyboard last year to try and refresh my memory.. but have not made time for it!
14. I have always belonged to a gym and enjoy working out. I would see the afternoon SS class warming up at the JCC and really thought my personal workouts would be harder. I was very wrong!
15. I am a creature of habit...and often did the same work out week after week.
16. If you haven't noticed the weight gain...what a great opportunity to announce I am 20 weeks pregnant and it's a girl!! (Please don't comment on FB since I have not told my parents yet!) Eric's brother has 3 girls...Cooper is so far the only grandson. I am hoping to pass down Cooper's outgrown clothes to my sister-in-law who is getting married one week after I deliver!!
17. I have never been comfortable in the water and could not properly swim laps and breathe side to side...until I took lessons as an adult. While working at UNC, I belonged to the UNC Wellness center and took group lessons from a brief reality star from "The Bachelor". If you are fans of the show, "Jenny" was the spy for the Bachelor, "Jessy Palmer"...the former Giants QB.
18. I have foot problems and hate wearing heels! I will spend my money on a good pair of Danskos. I started indoor cycling and quit trying to run years ago.
19. I am sort of a pack rat but after living in an old house with little storage...I am learning to let go!
20. I love to travel and plan trips. Eric and my friends always look to me to do all the research and plan the itinerary. I envy Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel!
21. I have an SLR camera and love taking pictures. One day I am going to learn how to use my PhotoShop program.
22. My parents are Disney fans and took us to the parks countless times. Eric is not a big fan...but I have already informed him we are taking Cooper more than once!
23. I enjoy red wine and have visited Napa & Sonoma.
24. I hate reality TV and wish there were more shows like "Lost" on TV.
25. I love Stroller Strides and all the new mommies I have met! I joined after my Pediatrician advised me to keep Cooper out of the JCC nursery during the flu season last year. Looking forward to bringing the new baby girl!
